Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum shared wonderful screen chemistry in the recently released movie "Jupiter Ascending". Kunis played the role of Jupiter Jones, a Russian girl who lives together with her immediate and extended family, forced to live a life making coffee and cleaning the toilet. Tatum on the other hand plays as Cain Wise, a part-wolf bounty hunter with the desires of getting his wings back. Channing Tatum may have played as an excellent hero in the series but the whole movie proved to be a waste and a failure for most movie reviewers and critics. With the "unstellar" cinematography and the disappointing effects and music of the movie, viewers managed to learn a few life changing facts in the movie.
1. Some families really do kill each other for power and money.
The Abrasax family, the royalty that owns most of the universe is a perfect example of a family broken and apart because of power and money. Balem wanted to kill the reincarnation of her mom just to have the Earth for himself. Titus deceived poor Jupiter into marrying her so that he could later on kill her and claim the Earth for himself. Kalique doesn't seem to have deadly motives on her mom's reincarnation, but being the wealthiest among the Abrasax family, she simply showed contentment on the extravagant things that she already has.
2. Time, more time indeed requires a high price to afford
In the movie, the Earth is described as a cattle herd where people are harvested to produce an elixir that will keep you looking young. An elixir harvested from 100 human bodies that could give you the chance to live for 91, 000 years or even more. That is the high price that comes with youth and immortality, taking the life away from others.
3. Trying too much does not lead you to the things that you want. Letting go gets you there.
Caine Wise was so eager in trying to get her wings back. He wanted it so bad that he almost lost the love of his life for trying to do so. When he started to start forgetting about himself, about his inhibitions and worries, it took him to greater height, so great he was able to create havoc and destroy a universe in the whole process of saving what matters the most, Jupiter. He ended up getting his wings in the end and he had Jupiter on his side to enjoy the feeling of flying once more.
4. Wanting too much can sometimes lead you to not having anything at all.
Balem lost his whole universe just because he wanted to have Earth. Compare Earth to the whole of the universe and planets he already has in his belt. He wanted things not meant for him so he end up losing what' already his.
5. Sometimes you have to lose the life that you have to appreciate what you have.
Jupiter hated her life and wanted something more. She definitely got more, but getting more meant possibly losing her family, the love of her life and Earth. In the end, she realized that the life that she has is already perfect, she just had to learn to embrace it.
