"Suicide Squad" will premiere on the silver screen on August 5, 2016. The Joker will be a member of the infamous group which will be portrayed by Jared Leto. The actor reveals his preparations in taking up the role of the deadly clown.
There were reports that Jared Leto will be filling up a big role when he was casted as The Joker in the upcoming "Suicide Squad". Fans will be expecting a lot from Leto in his portrayal of the illustrious Joker considering that the character has become an icon of some sort.
Jared Leto shared his thoughts in one of his recent interviews and the actor admits that it is a big challenge for him. According to a report, Leto said that "The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character-that's what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right? [He's] this beautiful disaster of a character-what a big challenge."
The actor and frontman of Thirty Seconds to Mars also revealed that he's planning to gain weight in order to play The Joker more appropriately in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" movie. However it looks like the vegan actor will be having a hard gaining weight. He said in an interview that "I'm trying to gain a lot of weight," adding that "It means I have to eat every couple of hours -- and I'm terrible at eating a lot."

The Joker has indeed become one of the most iconic characters in the comic book and cinemas as well. He has been portrayed by several great actors before and different versions of him were manifested in the silver screen.
Among the notable Joker actors were Cesar Romero who portrayed an amusing, almost innocent looking but deadly Joker. Jack Nicholson's version reveals a terrorist hidden behind a smiling and jaunting clown. Heath Ledger's was a dark and chaotic at the same time.
Jared Leto has indeed clown-like large shoes to fill and fans are going to expect a lot from him in the upcoming "Suicide Squad". However they can expect only the best performance from the Oscar winning actor as he takes focus on his role as The Joker.
