"Captain Marvel" is set to be premiere in the big screen on November 2, 2018. While it may still be a long way for Marvel to go to pre-production, Katheryn Winnick has expressed her interest for the role of Carol Danvers and a lot of fans loved her to put on Captain Marvel's suit. Angelina Jolie was also rumored to direct the upcoming female superhero film from Marvel.
Katheryn Winnick is one of the fan favorite actresses who would fit the role of Carol Danvers in the upcoming movie Captain Marvel. Winnick currently plays Latherga in the Vikings TV Series in History channel. She expressed her enthusiasm to appear in a superhero movie saying that she loves those stories during her childhood.
In her recent interview with IGN, she was asked if she has interest in joining superhero movies based on the comic book. Winnick said that "I would love to. Oh wow, there's so many. I'm such a fan of comic books. I grew up reading them. They were my idols. Like, these characters came to life for me! I don't think there's one in particular, either than I would love to play an action hero."
When she was asked if she would like to play the role Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel, the Vikings actress simply smiled and said that she would answer her phone if Marvel called her.
Fans of the actress would recall that Katheryn Winnick posted a fan art on her instagram before where she was illustrated and dressed in Captain Marvel costume. The fan art was impressive and even the actress admits that it was amazing saying that she was grateful for her fan's support.
In other news, Angelina Jolie was reportedly being courted by Marvel Studios to helm their first solo female superhero movie. According to the reports, Jolie was offered $20M to work on the upcoming "Captain Marvel" movie adaptation.
Reports says that Angelina Jolie was surprised for the offer considering that the Sony Pictures leak scandal revealed the exchange between the producer Scott Rudin and former co-chairman Amy Pascal calling her a "minimally talented spoiled brat". That is why Jolie never have thought that she'd be in a huge demand and the director and she considers Marvel's offer as a huge pat on the back after the whole Sony Fiasco. Jolie has yet to confirm these reports but fans can still look forward to her joining the Captain Marvel project.
"Captain Marvel" is scheduled to be released on the silver screen on November 2, 2018. It will star Carol Danvers as the first solo female superhero film in Marvel Cinematic Universe.
