Smartphone owners whose handset devices are running with Android OS must be too excited to hear good news from Google as the tech giant is bringing in the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update right at the tip of every user's fingers. Although news pickup confirms March is the time, exact date has to be confirmed yet.
For the time being, top smartphone brands like Samsung, LG, Motorola, HTC, and Sony have to wait in the line for the Android 5.1 rollout since Google-owned Nexus devices might be receiving the exciting update yet as usual in the Android history.
Meanwhile, Google has been generous with impressive teasers and tantalizing hints for the latest mobile operating system update. The features were first made known since it was already released in Google's budget phone Android One in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Google's Material Design UI carries major tweaks and enhancements for Android 5.1 Lollipop. The UI technology is expected to transport users to a more convenient guide to sophisticated shadows and animation features.
Forbes noticed last year in an article that Android 5.0 drastically swallows up battery life, which is believed to have been resolved in the 5.1. Meanwhile, Google is bringing back the silent mode as it was removed from the previous update, and was replaced with priority mode. XDA Developers considers this a huge downfall in Android features.
In a report, Android 5.1 Lollipop will feature a more efficient swiping approach as the update will enable users to "swipe to get rid of the Quick settings menu and unlock the device" and even a new Wi-Fi toggle. Users will have the opportunity to switch different connections (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.) and customization (Invert colors, etc.) from the notification slide as there will be arrow icons underneath each app for easy switching.
In another report, Android 5.1 Lollipop is far better than 5.0 as the latest upgrade will only take up lesser RAM than the previous' 1.2 GB. Normal usage is at 500 MB only. Fixes for sudden app closures have already been addressed. Surely though, more features are expected to come out as the official rollout will be announced.
