John Travolta's Oscars 2015 flirting affects Scarlett Johansson, Idina Menzel? Etiquette adviser says "It’s okay"

An equivalent to a ‘drunk uncle.' That's how several Twitter fans react on John Travolta's awkward flirting moves at Oscars 2015 Sunday. One of his victim's Scarlett Johansson in her dark green long gown. Travolta ignored Scarlett's husband, Romain Dauriac and happily do his act kissing her and keeping his hands on her waist. Fortunately, ScarJo didn't show awkwardness on John's move.

While a lot of people think, it's just a nice appreciation and a sweet gesture of John, it is believed it's not because audiences doesn't find it good at all. On the contrary, etiquette consultant William Hanson explained that Travolta's action only shows respect to women. "In social situations, a man should take the lead from the woman as to how they will greet," he said. "Sadly women don't know now that they need to make the first move, as it were. If the woman extends her hand then that means the pair will shake hands. If she opens her arms wide, there will be a hug, and so on," he added.

Not only Scarlett was innocent over John's deed. Idina Menzel, the ‘Let it Go' singer never escaped when the actor-singer stroked her chin over his face. A bumbling maneuver indeed. But according to Travolta's publicist, Menzel and Travolta's act were rehearsed. Apart from Idina, John also does the chin-stroking thing to Madame Tussauds plus a huge, blundering hug from behind.

The best thing that happened at Oscars for John is that he seems to avoid critics and just let those controversial acts pass. 'While across the pond in America social kissing is not as popular although it is seen more in New York and LA. And if you get stuck - simply extend a hand and forget the kiss altogether,' the etiquette adviser stressed.
