Everything is awesome because the "The LEGO Movie" finally gets a green light for a sequel. Emmet and his all-star hero team's fate will be in the hands of the new director, multi-awarded and critically acclaimed Rob Schrab. The first film's directors and writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be returning to produce and pen the film.
"We are so excited to collaborate with Rob! He is a comedy genius, a visual savant, and we have been stalking him for years. No one works harder than Rob, and his aesthetic, combined with his sense of humor, bring a strong, unique, thoughtful, and passionately nerdy voice to this project.
People who know him are slapping their foreheads today and saying, 'Of course!," Lord and Miller excitedly said in a statement.
Primary premiere date changed, LEGO Batman to have his solo film
"The LEGO Movie' captivated critics and audiences on a global scale with its irresistible blend of humor, imagination and fun." Greg Silverman, Warner Bros.' president of creative development said. "Warner Bros. is excited to build our relationship with
The LEGO Group with this new adventure, and we join them in welcoming the multi-talented Rob Schrab to the LEGO family as he takes the helm of 'The LEGO Movie Sequel." Silverman added. But according to reports, the film's initial premiere of schedule of May 26, 2017 will be pushed back to 2018 due to the release "LEGO Ninjago" on September 23, 2016.
Will "LEGO Batman" spin-off bypass the original LEGO film? That's definitely a yes. According to a report, the sequel of the LEGO movie will be getting its premiere on 2018 to prioritize the solo film of LEGO Batman, which was voiced by the comedic Will Arnett.
