The game developer is definitely eyeing to create Uncharted 4: A Thief's End as awesome as it can with the power of the PS4 console. In his interview with CG Master Academy as reported by Attack of the Fanboy, the studio's lead character artist, Frank Tzeng revealed more details about the game's graphics.
He mentioned that video quality is "getting really close to film right now". He commended all the job done to Nathan Drake in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and added that the protagonist resembles "a film character".
He went on saying that the PS4 console has allowed the team to put more polygons on the screen compared to the PS3 resulting to a more "high resolution maps" and also adding more expressions as well as details on the character models.
Meanwhile, the studio is also reportedly looking into using the flashlight technology from its smash hit,The Last of Us, and all other available tools to make Uncharted 4: A Thief's End the biggest game to come out this 2015.
In a recent interview with Spanish site HobbyConsolas, Lead Designer Ricky Cambier has elaborated how there will be a number of scenes to utilize the flashlight in relation to the story. He dropped hints that several "mysteries of the island" will only be unearthed in dark places-- areas that the flashlight will allow the players to explore.
Designer Kurt Margenau added that the technology from 'The Last of Us' to make this new main title becomes even more superb looking.
"The good thing about the flashlight technology that we already used in The Last of Us is that, even though you're entering a dark area, it's not actually dark once you use the flashlight, and this creates a balance of sorts," Magenau said.
"Whenever we introduce new mechanics, we try to make it as efficient as possible in order to expand the game as a whole." He went on to mention how its usage in solving puzzles will highlight important aspects in the environment, something that will help players "feel part of the world."
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is developed as a PS4 exclusive expected to get a release date by fall season this year.
