HTC has finally revealed One M9 and has lived up to its promises of slick performance, a promising ultra-fast camera, a stunning design and build bringing in more supremacy and a horde of other upgrades and new features.
A new competitor of Apple's iPhone 6 and Samsung's S6 in the best smartphone showdown, the much-anticipated One M9 will now take over full control of HTC banner but M8 cannot be shrugged off with its price tag going down low to pave way for its successor.
In terms of power, One M9 is driven by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor at 2.0 GHz and 1.5 GHz. The processor is expected to make the best out of the Android 5.0.2 operating system and the 3 GB of RAM. One M9 is more efficient with the switchable Snapdragon 810 to four fast cores and four slower ones depending on the needed power.
Last year, HTC fascinated tech geeks with M8's 2.3 GHz qud-core Snapdragon 801 processor and Adreno 430 GPU, while coupled with 2 GB of RAM. In terms of design, HTC has made a breakthrough in best looking smartphones. Thanks to its shiny curved metal chassis which HTC also boasts to be wholly free from plastic. M9's high-end design is available at plain grey, silver or gold and is the thinnest at 144.3 x 69.4 x 9.56 mm.
Although M8 does not fall away too far from there with regards to design, its body is also a full metal build with 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm dimensions. Screen has not changed a lot for M9 as both devices have 5-inch 1080p display.
In terms of interface, HTC Sense 7.0 is dramatically different from the previous 6.0 both in features and visual capacity. Sense 7.0 is more subtle with weather and clock and several other widgets are now italicized. It also offers customization themes, an impressive launcher and suggestions in the lock screen based on previously used apps. In terms of camera, HTC employs a striking 20 MP camera and 5 MP front-facing camera, while it also offers the latest device with a striking BoomSound speakers enhanced by Dolby Surround.
