TV Adaptation is challenging especially of its lead character is complex and almost perfect novel character. In the case of Diana Gabaldon's creation Jamie Fraser, 'Outlander' TV series co- executive producer Maril Davis shared she just interviewed Sam Heughan on Skype about it. Does it mean the Scottish actor is too regular or regal to fit in Fraser persona?

For the delight Outlander's followers, DVD and Blu-ray of Starz series includes interviews with Davis and Ronald D. Moore who divulged how Sam got the role. Moore believed that Sam personified Fraser with his aura of a true leader, gentleness and humor. On the other hand, David said she interviewed Heughan on Skype and right there and then the 34-year old actor convinced her. She also added that his charm was effective on her.

The said DVD and Blu-ray release only features first eight episodes of Outlander's first season, which aired on September 27 last year. Thought there's long gap in between, the period drama that also stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Beauchamp Randall, proves it massive impact. It's named Favorite Cable Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show in 2015 People's Choice Award held early this year at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

In Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour, Heughan divulged what people can expect from his well-known character.

"In the second part of the season, there is a lot more about Jamie. He's finding his place in the world. He has new responsibilities. He's got to deal with relationships he'd rather not deal with - his sister, his dead father. We start to see his stubborn side, his pride. He's less idealistic. We start to see the chinks in the armor. He's very vulnerable and he learns a lot," Sam shared.

For those itching to know what's store for Jamie's relationship with Claire, the Scottish actor said in his interview with Channel Guide Magazine that the two lead characters will constantly tested.

"Their relationship is now tested constantly," he added. "They're always battling to get back to each other, to find some sort of common ground. It's about their relationship moving forward and discovering about each other. Largely, that's what a modern relationship is, really. You learning about how to interact," he said.

Reportedly, Outlander's upcoming episodes will show some serious spanking scenes that Balfe said may earn criticisms. Show's 9th episode entitled 'The Reckoning' is slated to relay on April 4.
