'Titanfall 2' PS4, Xbox One Exclusivity Deal from Microsoft Continues: Game Titles Set Release by Holidays 2017

By

Electronic Arts recently confirmed about Titanfall's sequel to arrive in multiple platforms. Due to the success of PS4 and EA's strategy to multiplatform development, Titanfall 2 will likely to release in Sony's console. On the other hand. Microsoft still tried to get some of the exclusivity delay with Respawn Entertainment and EA.

According to the Wedbush Securities' Michael Pachter, he believed that Microsoft will likely do the same thing with the other game title, "Rise of the Tomb Raider," where they had a timed exclusivity deal focusing on the devliery of the game in Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms.

He said, "Respawn Entertainent made a game [Titanfall] in about four years with 75 guys. And Vince Zampella will have a new game on multiple platforms probably in three years. He'll brief up the studio and he is really good at it. So I would expect, since Titanfall came out in March of '14, you'll see Titanfall 2 probably by Holiday of '17, so I expect that they'll announce it at next year's E3, a year from now. But yes it will be a multiplatform game and yes, Microsoft will offer something for a timed exclusive."

He added that the game will be relesed only in the current-generation consoles like PS4 and Xbox One. Then with a statement, he mentioned about the probability of Sony's move to outpace Xbox One in terms of sales.

Pachter cited, "There's so much times between now and Holiday '17. Let's see if Sony continues to advance, and continues to outpace Xbox One in sales, then no, I don't think you're ever going to see a title that's Xbox One exclusive. If Sony keeps the lead, I mean, they're roughly outsellign the Xbox by 50% or more, then no. Nobody would. By then you're talking about 65 or 80 million PS4s and 40 or 50 million Xbox Ones. Nobody's going to give away the potential to sell 60 million more copies of a game."

Meanwhile, Respawn Entertainment will be celebrating their anniversary this March 10 after they first released Titanfall in March 11, 2014. Thus, the game developer invited fans to attend to the said celebration. They tweeted, "Join myself and members of the @Respawn forums for Titanfall's first birthday community right (3/10/15)," hashtagged, "#Titanfall."

From their forum, they posted about the details about the celebration. They mentioned about the history of how Titanfall started and how it achieved big success. So, they are inviting everyone this March 10, 2015 at exactly 9:30PM EST where players can have an unlimited play of the game.
