In Sister Wives' last season, it was revealed that Meri and Kody have ended their marriage, legally. Just so you know, Meri was Kody's legal wife for more than twenty years. From the season finale, she mentioned that she decided to file a divorce in order to help Robyn's children to enjoy legal benefits. The only way it can happen is if Kody will marry Robyn.
That was a heroic act and in fact, Meri's supporters were proud of her for being so selfless. However, some questioned her decision. Is it really because of the kids' welfare, or is there a deeper reason for filing for a divorce.
If you must know, Meri's daughters already left for college. That means, she can practically move out and live on her own. If you are a 'normal-thinking' person, sharing your husband isn't something that you would want to happen. Many believe that Meri stayed in that kind of setup for the sake of her own kids. Now that they are old enough and that a father-figure isn't something that they would need on a daily basis, Meri might have seen this chance to escape.
And when Meri leaves the house of Brown, we will be left with only three Sister Wives. Does that mean Kody will find another woman that is open to that kind of setup? Quite frankly, I don't think this will be answered in the next season as we expect to see Kody's wedding and their fight for Robyn's kids. But just in case there will be a season 7 of Sister Wives, this could be a great story to tell.
Meanwhile, Robyn has been receiving a lot of hate messages after the divorce. She tried to defend herself by responding to those messages. But she also stopped and shared that even if she tried to explain her side, some people will always find reason to hate. Well, what did she expect? Their life isn't normal, and they are on TV for crying out loud! Read some of the messages here.
I don't think Sister Wives will ran out of drama in their life. Let's see more of this on their sixth season.
