MacBook Air 2015 March Release Date: Is it for Real?

By

Apple's March 9 Spring Forward event, where iPhone's accesory Apple Watch wil be launched, is just a few days away. Will the MacBook Air 2015 be unveiled on that day, too?
Rumors about the March launching of the MacBook Air started to emerge as early as January. This was after Apple Insider reported that Apple has stopped restocking MacBook Air configurations and gave resellers the go signal to sell the laptop at a discounted price to clear inventories. This according to the tech website is an indication that a new product is coming. That product is speculated to be the 12-inch Retina version of the MacBook Air.
Other tech authorities that agreed to this prediction som time in January include KGI analyst Ming-Chi Ku and Oppenheimer's Andrew Uerkwitz. One factor that convinced these two of the possibility of March launching is the launching of Intel's new family of processing technology called Broadwell, the same processors that Apple is rumored to use for the upcoming MacBook Air.

Recent updates on Intel-Apple team up indicates that the processors have already arrived to the device maker to complete the production of MacBook Air 2015 which started in December last year.
Apple's next event could also provide a hint that the Macbook Air is launching this March because WWDC would be the event for MacBook Pro. Unless there is another major event that Apple is planning of in between Spring Forward and WWDC events, a March launching could be very possible for the MacBook Air alongside with Apple Watch.

Another interesting observation about the possibility of a March launching is that Apple has never launched an accessory for a major event like Spring Forward. Apple has been consistent in following certain release dates in the past years, thus making its launching dates for its product categories somehow predictable.
The MacBook Air 2015 is rumored to be available in the market in between April to June.
