A new Spider-Man could actually be in town. Sony and Marvel recently agreed to join forces and reboot the friendly web-slinging superhero in cinemas once more and is in dire need of a new actor to fit in the hero shoes. Is Freddie Highmore the perfect Spider-Man they have been looking for? Is he prepared to work under the writing prowess and directional talents of Drew Goddard?
Freddie who played the iconic character of Charlie in the movie 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' is very ecstatic about the possibility in landing on the much coveted role. "Obviously, I would love to be considered. That would be fantastic. I guess we'll just see how things go." The 23-year old currently stars as a trouble kid on the A&E series Bates Hotel and shares how he seems to connect with Spider-Man's character. "You always feel like you can identify with him,' he explained. "He's that kind of guy at scho0l who wasn't perhaps in the really cool group, but who was extremely intelligent and managed to fin confidence in being Spider-Man - in is other side to his life."
There are still no confirmations if Freddie Highmore is indeed getting the role, but he'll be in great hands if he'll end up starring in this Sony and Marvel collaborative movie. Drew Goddard is slated to write the script and serve behind the lens for this project. He has plenty of time to do so and create a stellar come back for the hero in his rumored standalone movie "Spectacular Spider-Man." He is also rumored to be directing another Marvel movie, Sinister Six. He's not confirming anything yet, but to miss out on such a massive project is something he could not afford to take.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man has been confirmed to be playing a role in the movie Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. He is already included in the recent trailer released by IGN and is also rumored to appear in other Marvel movies which include Captain America 3: Civil War, Sinister Six, Blackpanther and Doctor Strange.
The "Spectacular Spider-Man" is scheduled to be seen on cinemas on 2017.
