The MacBook Pro 2015 is expected to arrive in June at the WWDC, an event where Apple had previously released MacBook Pro products. While that is almost four months away, the concept about the upcoming MacBook Pro is already complete, including specs, price, and release date.
According to tech reviewers, especially those specializing in MacBook products, the MacBook Pro 2015 will be more efficient in terms of perfomance and battery life. This will be made possible with Broadwell, Intel's newest processing technology, and the aid of other energy use enhancements that come with Yosemite. Broadwell is also expected to provide "native support for the 4k display technology."
In 2014 the previous MacBook Pro models, both with Retina displays and optical drive, were offered at a price lower than their initial price release. Would this pricing trend continue with the upcoming MacBook Pro? According to Macworld UK this is unlikely, but it expects to fall within the current price range of MacBook Pro laptops even with the projected specs boosts.
The higher-end 15-inch MacBook models already have quad-core processors, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro offers dual-core. Apple is likely to remain the dual-core processors for the 13-inch MacBook Pro, while the fate of the dual-graphics card setup which allows users to shift from one graphics card to another is still unknown. This 15-inch 2014 MacBook Pro is Apple's only laptop that offers this functionality.
Apple is also expected to keep the 8GB storage capacity for the standard 13-inch MacBook Pro models and 16GB for the 15-inch models. Apple may also switch to the GeForce 800M series of GPUs.
The current price of the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro, 2.6GHz (dual-core i5) is 128GB, £999; the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro, 2.6GHz (dual -core i5), 256GB, £1,199; the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro, 2.8GHz (dual -core i5), 512GB, £1,399. While the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro, 2.2GHz (quad-core i7) 256GB currently costs £1,599, and the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro, 2.2GHz (quad-core i7), 512GB, £1,999.
This year's Apple's WWDC conference will take place in June 8-15.
