A call for a Project Mayhem style Marketing Strategy urges fans to help promote the upcoming graphic novel and the most successful will be rewarded with leather bound editions.
Chuck Palahniuk has just revealed several details which is important to the plot of the upcoming "Fight Club 2" graphic novel. The author of the bestselling "Fight Club" 1996 classic novel, said that the comic book sequel is set 10 years after the events of "Fight Club".
The unnamed narrator is now married to Marla and they now have a son. However it was also revealed that things are going down south with the married couple since Marla is getting bored with their life. The Publisher of the upcoming "Fight Club 2" graphic novel also promises that Tyler Durden will be back saying that "some imaginary friends never go away ... Ten years after starting Project Mayhem, [the anonymous narrator] lives a mundane life. A kid, a wife, pills to keep his destiny at bay. But it won't last long; the wife has seen to that. The time has come ... Rize or Die."
An excerpt of "Fight Club 2" was recently revealed in a Playboy exclusive preview. It is a six page teaser showing the mundane life of the unnamed narrator with Marla and his son. Chuck Palahniuk narrates that the unnamed narrator became a total loser in "Fight Club 2". The new narrator of the graphic novel sequel portrays the protagonist with disdain saying that "Look at him. He calls himself Sebastian these days. Ten years ago, he was destined to be another Alexander the Great. A new Genghis Khan," adding in the end "He traded his army ... for what?"
Marla is very bored with her life and marriage saying that "Today is my ninth wedding anniversary, but I could swear I've been married for 60 years. I'm so tired of dieting and colouring my hair," adding that her husband "wasn't always so boring".
In related news, Dark Horse Comics revealed that they are going to promote the upcoming "Fight Club 2" graphic novel in Project Mayhem Style acts of guerrilla marketing. The most successful of the participants will be rewarded with a leather bound editions of the upcoming graphic novel.
"Fight Club 2" graphic novel is illustrated by Cameron Stewart and written by Chuck Palahniuk. Published by Dark Horse Comics, the sequel to the 1996 "Fight Club" novel will hit the shelves on May 27.
