Channing Tatum's has been rumored that the Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street actor has been lined up to star in a new Ghostbusters film following the female-led reboot wherein, Leslie Jones and Kate Mckinnon will be joining Kristen Wigg and Melissa McCarthy in the first new film sequel which will hit the cameras in June and arrive in cinemas in July 2016. "Director Paul Feig has got four of the said funniest women in the world and there will be other surprises to come,"Reitman stated in a report.
Meanwhile, Ghostbusters franchise film has been expanded by Sony Pictures with the help of Ghost Corps, a production company where original director Ivan Reitman and star Dan Aykroyd are connected.
Reitman said in previous reports, "We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, and all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment". He has confirmed that there are plans already like branding prospects that has been included in a cosmic Bible for the possibilities that they have been hatched 30 years ago wherein such idea is used to form the original film.
Ghostbusters second movie is being worked out to feature male-driven Ghostbusters film which may possibly be directed by the Russo Brothers, who are behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Iron man 3 writer, Drew Pearce is creating the script. "It's just the beginning of what I hope will be a lot of wonderful movies," Reitman said in a report. The movie has been wished to be shot next year and be released in 2017. He added, "This is a brand new entertainment, a scary supernatural premise mixed with comedy. Paul Freig's film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July 2016".
