“Pirates of the Caribbean 5” Cast, Release Update: Johnny Depp injury causes premiere delays?

Bad news for the excited fans of the movie franchise "The Pirates of the Caribbean 5." Johnny Depp, the lead star of the movie who plays the exciting and entertaining role of Captain Jack Sparrow is flying back to the US for a hand surgery. He was recently injured in the set of "The Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" in Helensvale.

Whether the actor was hurt while shooting for a scene or was simply in the set when the accident happen remains unclear. The crew and staff of the production are also staying mum on the incident. The only official statement from the outfit is that this will not affect and hinder the production of the movie.

Yet, fans are still worried that the production might not be able to catch up with the July 2017 release. Besides Depp's recent injury, several unfortunate events caused delays in the filming of the movie.

Earlier this year, a man on his 20's wearing a pirate costume created a commotion on the set. He threatened a security on set with a knife. The man who even had a parrot on his shoulder was immediately caught by the police and was evidently interrogated. Cyclone Marcia who invaded the Gold Coast after the pirate incident brought heavy rains, but the crew claims that this did not interrupted the filming.

Bad luck seems to come in three's making Depp's unfortunate accident hopefully the third and the last that could happen in the set of the movie. The movie started filming last February 18, 2015.

"The Pirated of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales is being shot at the Country Club Drive in Helensvale Gold Coast and is at present the largest movie filmed in Queensland. Johnny Depp returns on screen together with Javier Bardem who plays as the villain Captain Salazar, Geoffrey Rush and Brenton Thwaites.

The action and adventure of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is scheduled to return on July 07, 2017 in cinemas.
