Paramount green-lighted the production of the sequel to the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" to shoot on late April of 2015. The film adaptation of the popular 80's children's series will be helmed by its new director Dave Green. His credits include "Earth to Echo", "Meltdown" and "New Romance". Michael Bay from the "Transformers" series will be the Executive Producer of the film.
Despite the recurring story of the mutant turtles who was trained by Master Splinter to fight evil in the night, the first movie proved to be worth watching after all. Backed up by the $477 million returns worldwide, there is no doubt that the film should be called for a part two.
William Fichtner to return in the sequel but not as Shredder, Is he disappointed?
"The Lone Ranger" star confirmed that he will be returning for the "TMNT" sequel. "I know they're working on the script right now. I think we're going to start shooting late April and I don't know much more about it than that right now," the actor said when asked about the film. The question is, did he feel a little down for losing the role of Shredder?
"Not at all, actually. Without getting into too much detail, I really understood why it might be stronger to separate [Sachs and Shredder]. And I've said this a million times, I'm such a producer-friendly guy." Fichtner said in a statement.
"Because when we talked about making some changes on the film, and dial it in a little bit better and not go in this direction because we're going to go in that direction, I ultimately felt it was a better movie. And that's putting myself out of the equation. I just thought the thought process to separate Shredder from Sachs was a better movie." he added.
