The launching of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge gives us an idea of the standards that the tech manufacturer will be using for its upcoming devices, including the Galaxy Note 5. It is the closest and the most real we can have as a benchmark now, next to Galaxy Note 4.
Here are five improvements from the Galaxy S6 and its dual-edge display version that Samsung could also take as the ceiling for its Galaxy Note 5.
Premium Design
There's no turning back now for Samsung after the massive shift in the built design of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. For the upcoming Galaxy Note 5, this means that it will also be stripped of the full plastic design. At the very least, it would feature a premium material on board like what Samsung did with the metal band around the Note 4 to give it a new, premium look.
Larger, Impressive Display
The speculations about the Galaxy Note 5 featuring a Quad HD display is not surprising because Samsung's previous flagship devices come with AMOLED display. The interesting part of the rumors in this department is the possibility of UHD to arrive in Samsung smartphones this 2015. This means a large display and a very impressive one. The speculations of a 5.9 inch screen display, matched with a 4K display with 3840 x 2160 pixel, somewhat fit to the rumored description. If this is true, the Galaxy Note 5 will be the biggest device Samsung has ever created in this product line.
Plenty of Storage
Ditching removable battery and microSD card is now a trend in the name of a thinner and lighter device. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 may not be an exception especially that it is very likely to come with a premium design. If it will come with tons of storage space like the rumored 4 GB RAM and an internal storage of up to 128 GB, it should also come with a new OS and other aids like battery tweaks, wireless charging, to name a few, for better power and faster charging time. The Galalxy S6 also comes with storage options from 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB and features the Exynos 7 chipset to support efficient performance and battery life.
Revamped Fingerprint Sensor
The S6's fingerprint sensor is now built-in into the handset's home button, making it possible to place one's finger to tap on the button to unlock the device or make a payment. There's a high chance that Samsung will also use this in the Galaxy Note 5 for no other reason than its previous fingerprint sensor was unreliable.
Processors and Camera
It is also likely for Samsung to use the Exynos 7 processor on Galaxy Note 5, but Qualcomm octacore Snapdragon 810 processor is also a possibility. Both are high-end processors that is the sort of processing technology that Samsung uses for its devices.
The high-density EPOP might also be introduced in this device to help provide a better multitasking experience. Camera boosts are also expected after all the company boasts that the future of smartphone cameras lies on Samsung.
