The March 9 launching of Apple Watch comes without any iPhone mention at the event. Not even the iPhone 6s which according to some speculations would be launched at the Spring Forward event.
Back then the spring launching of iPhone 6s make sense given that Apple is speculated to release its flagship phone, the iPhone 7, in September. But the event came and that hasn't happened.
Will Apple release another iPhone "S" range this year, or will it skip straight to the flagship phone?
Apple has not commented about it yet. But if Apple will continue its 2014 trend for releasing iPhone, there will be also two iPhones for this year. One will be smaller and one larger. We just don't know yet how these phones will be called.
Some rumors say that it will be iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Others believe that Apple will ditch the that naming trend not only because it's time but also because the "S" range defeat Apple's purpose of being a premium product company. The iPhone "S" range is considered to be more down-market than the latest iPhone model that it follows. That's why it is offered to people who want to upgrade to a slightly cheaper handset from this product line.
Whatever the next iPhone will be called, what's clear now is that the upcoming iPhone will receive a huge boost in RAM department. Yes, the much-awaited 2GB RAM will be in the next iPhone alongside with A9 processors and pressure sensitive touch control capabilities.
The idea about the 2GB RAM coming on the next iPhone is not new, however. If the debut of the 2GB of RAM on iPad Air 2 is any indication, Apple could also take the leap for its phone category.
According to Know Your Mobile, this could well do if Apple pushes through with the rumored transfer of iPad feature, Apple SIM, to the upcoming iPhone. This move may have a controversial impact on carrier networks, though.
The upcoming iPhone will also continue to offer features that has been a part of the device, such as Touch ID support, NFC for Apple Pay, 802.11ac Wi-Fi capabilities, and LTE Advanced.
Will Apple release iPhone 6s this year? It's yet to be confirmed and so its name.
