'Batman v Superman' Spoilers: Catwoman revealed as bisexual? Superman may die in 'Dawn of Justice'

By

Of the many characters rumored for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (and there are many characters- from the obvious ones like Batman and Superman to Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Aquaman, Cyborg and maybe even Green Lantern), there's one comic book character who's name has never been in the running: Catwoman. But given the character's recent changes in the comics, we might be seeing a lot more of Catwoman in the DC live action film universe, very soon.

It was revealed that Selina Kyle, the original Catwoman from classic Batman comics, is actually bisexual. The reveal came in the pages of the latest Catwoman comic, Catwoman 39, when Selina kissed another female character, Eiko Hasigawa. Comic book writer Genevieve Valentine spoke at length about the character's sudden reveal about her sexuality- which, for many comic book readers, seemed like a long time coming.

"Certainly it's no surprise to Selina that she has an attraction to a woman," Valentine explained. "Is this particular kiss a surprise? It's definitely surprising; this is the very last thing you're supposed to be getting into on the brink of war, and they both know it. But this isn't the first intense moment between them."

The real question, though, is will this affect Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Catwoman's bisexuality may cause her popularity to skyrocket, if comic readers are eager to see more LGBT superheroes in the comic books. And if that's the case, Warner Bros may be scrambling to get Catwoman into a new superhero film, ASAP. She was last seen in 2013's The Dark Knight Rises, but there's been no talk of her in the latest version of the DC Universe.

Perhaps she could be involved with Doomsday, another comic book character rumored to join Batman v Superman. Doomsday, the villain best known for causing the death of Superman, might be part of some villainous alliance that could very well include Catwoman. But if so- does that mean Doomsday may kill Superman in the film? We'll have to see it to find out.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres on March 25, 2016.
