Zedd and Selena Gomez engagement rumors have driven a lot of fans nuts since the speculations started Wednesday, March 11 when the songstress was snapped wearing a slim diamond ring on her ring finger. The rumors were found to be untrue, however, as Gomez's rep recently clarified that the "I Want You To Know" singer is "not engaged."
It can be recalled that earlier this week, VMagazine tweeted a photo of Selena with the ring when she attended the Louis Vuitton show at Paris Fashion Week. That sparked rumors that Selena is engaged to 25-year old musician Zedd, whom she has been dating for months now following her not-so-distant breakup with Justin Bieber last year.
Before the engagement rumors even get wilder, the songstress' representative spoke up to address the issue. "Selena Gomez is not engaged," the rep told Hollywood Life.
The site also reported that Gomez's purpose for wearing the diamond ring has nothing to do with Zedd but with her ex, Justin Bieber. "Selena knows wearing a ring on that finger is going to get attention, she knows it's going to make everyone ask questions and she knows it will get back to Justin," the publication quoted a source as saying. "She still wants his attention."
Regardless of whether they will be truly engaged or not, the former Disney star seems to be enjoying her current relationship with Zedd. In a recent interview, the DJ and music producer reportedly called Selena "perfect" and "extremely inspiring," according to the Inquisitr.
The Russian-German musician talked to Power 96.1 about how he and Gomez first worked together on their recently released "I Want You To Know" single. "We started working on the song together and recorded her vocals and realized that it sounds perfect, so I never tried anyone else on the song and it happened to be the first single from my album," Zedd stated.
Zedd also seems to find her rumored girlfriend admirable not only as a singer but as a special kind of person. "I learned that she's extremely talented with dealing with being in the press all the time and being everywhere and not being bothered by that. I find it extremely inspiring that you can kind of shut off and do your thing and not be bothered by other people," Zedd added.
