'Mortal Kombat X' PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC: Gameplay goes Mobile

It seemed that Mortal Kombat X will be hitting mobile by next month. Apart from the consoles and PC platforms to release by April, Android phone users can now enjoy the exciting combats and fatallity of Johnny Cage together with his league of combatants.

From the recent reports about Mortal Kombat X, NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros revealed that they will also be releasing a mobile version of the game aside from the consoles and PC platforms during the GDC 2015 last week.

The game developer was able to give a brief demo which some of the players enjoyed, however, they haven't discussed the full details yet about the gameplay. But, according to reviews, the Android version for the game is impressive.

From the game appearance, background music and sounds as well, they left players amazed as everything worked really well for the fighing scenes. With the combat views from the mobile version, players can see the side-view as well as the behind-the-back view. The game was often compared with Injustice, 2013's fighting video game based from DC Comics, who had also a mobile version.

The said game was released in iOS version and Android which had a successful release two years ago, with good feedacks from the gamers. They said that with the Injustice: Gods Among Us, the battles looked great with exciting fighting scenes.

With controls for this type of gaming, the users will have the swipe-based combat system suited for mobile version games like Mortal Kombat X. But the downside of this particular system is that its controls are limited compared to the consoles and PC.

They also mentioned about the level of excitement to play will eventually go down due to the limited control system. Yet, it's still quite promising to compete with the platforms through mobile especially in gaming.

With the gameplay, since Mortal Kombat X will likely be the same as Injustice, the gamers can just use taps for the attacks, swipes [left or right and vice versa] for heavy attacks, and two fingers together for blocking. Players can use their creativity to make a special combo for a good fight using the tap, swipe, wait, block controlling system.

New features will be included for the game like the Faction Wars, which is cool and is playable for Android [though the gamers were not allowed to take video for the mobile demo], they said. They assured future gamers that if they have liked Injustice before, they'll likely to love Mortal Kombat X, too.

Meanwhile, Jonnny Cage will be the main protagonist for Mortal Kombat X. He will be fighting along with his daughter Cassie Cage, Sonya Blade and Johnny's Special Forces group members Jacqui, Takeda, and the mysterious Kung Jin.

Hans Lo, NetherRealm Studios' Senior Producer said that the combinations of the different personalities in the gameplay make the entire gaming more thrilling and exciting as well. For example, Cassie's mixed personality [from her parents], getting along with other characters.

He cited, "I think [blending existing characters] is part of it [exciting gameplay]. I think it's also, you know, just creating some new characters and trying to flesh them out and give them a real background and some history. Something that we hope the players wil latch onto and maybe make them become just as iconic as some of the characters that we already have."

Mortal Kombat X will be released in consoles, PC, Android and iOS by April 14 this year, NetherRealm confirmed.
