Chace Crawford Returns TV for ‘Boom’: Series Plot Revealed

After three years of showbiz hiatus, Chace Crawford is back on our TV screens for as he signed to star in ABC's new series, 'Boom.' Take a look at a sneak peak of the newest show.

The 29-year-old heartthrob will play the role of Billy, a "handsome and ambitious" young man in search for fortune and a new life.

The story is set in North Dakota and revolves around the discovery of the biggest oil reserve since American history. The discovery of such enormous wealth leads to a geopolitical shift and unprecedented economic boom, reported Daily Mail.

As they head for the oil fields in search for greener pasture, Billy (Chace) and his wife Kelly meets with an accident in route, leaving them stranded. If that isn't unfortunate enough, they are also broke and heavily in debt. In a desperate attempt to redeem himself and his family, he involves himself in an activity that may compromise his life, reported Hollywood Life.

Chace Crawford will join Don Johnson and Delroy Lindo. The show will be directed by Josh Pates, reported Just Jared. The drama series 'Boom' is written by Josh Pate and Rodes Fishburne.

'Boom' is Crawford's first TV role after his hit teen drama 'Gossip Girl.' In the show, he starred as Nate Archibald and appeared in all but six of the 121 episodes in its over-all six seasons.

In addition to his return projects, he stars in three films that will be released this year. This includes the psychological thriller 'Eloise,' a college sports comedy 'Undrafted,' and a yet to be titled Warren Beatty film.

Although he had no showbiz commitments in years, it doesn't mean that the Texan hunk is not busy. Just last month, he was caught smooching with Brazilian singer Manoela Gavassi. The two were working together as the promote local denim brand John John in Rio De Janeiro.
