After many speculations on the boyband's comeback, EXO new album 'Call Me Baby' is set to release on March 30, it was confirmed. This confirmation could put an end to SM Entertainment's interference with the band's track and album release.
SM Entertainment's male idol group EXO's comeback has been spoiled since December last year, and after many rumors, the entertainment company has confirmed EXO's comeback date on March 30, 2015.
Sports Donga, a Korean news outlet, reported last March 11that SM Entertainment the ten-member idol group will release their album March 30. The album is titled "Call Me Baby", which is also a title track.
The album reportedly has nine tracks. Several of the songs, including "Call Me Baby" have been released to the public, as EXO performed new songs at their latest concert series in Seoul. The band also performed songs like "El Dorado," "Playboy," "My Answer," "Exodus," "Hurt," "Full Moon," and "Promise" are just some of the songs that are expected to appear on EXO's second studio album.
This confirmation could put an end to the speculation that boyband's case with SM Entertainment might affect the release of the album. Reportedly, things went slow for the group after Kris Wu and Luhan's farewell and SM Entertainment is busy dealing with the legal proceedings of the lawsuits filed by the two ex-EXO members.
It was even previously reported that several members have spoken out against the company, saying that SM Entertainment overstepped its bounds by "[defaming]" several members of EXO and "limiting their activities."
Though the band's new album release date is confirmed, ex-members Kris and Luhan's lawsuits against SM Entertainment rage on.
Meanwhile, Billboard reported that they had asked about a rumored release date of March 30 floating around local media, a representative for EXO at their label S.M. Entertainment told them there has been no formal announcement regarding the band's upcoming album.
EXO debuted in 2012, and was later split into two groups. Initially, EXO-K promoted in Korea while EXO-M promoted in China. The two groups ended up being combined in 2013 and since last year it has been promoted as ten-member group.
