The Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin's release date on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3 as been pushed forward in Europe to April 2, same day as in North America, Bandai Namco Games has announced, including bundled 3 DLC packs.
These three released DLC packs for Dark Souls 2 are the Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown For the Ivory King alongside new features and content such as new bosses, NPCs, events, items, item placement, and a slew of lore changes. Heide's Tower of Flame will also feature a dragon, Eurogamer reported.
This move to the new consoles means updated graphics, audio, and performance, not to mention, an increase in the maximum amount of online players in single session.
Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin reportedly offers smoother performance with 1080p/60fps, all three of the game's DLC expansion packs, features new enemy placements as well as deadlier foe AI and enables more players to play together in single session.
From Software also released a free update now made available for all Dark Souls II players last February 5 to add expanded item descriptions, online matchmaking improvements, other gameplay tweaks and enhancements plus new story elements to get ready for the Scholar of the First Sin release next month.
"Judging by the areas shown so far, it's an update that revels in toying with the expectations of the initiated fan - a compelling prospect for those already planning a second play-through, provided the price is right," game critic Tom Morgan wrote in his Digital Foundry tech analysis.
Meanwhile, fans can check out the new screenshots for Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin that have been released alongside the news the game would arrive in Europe the same day as in North America. The new images highlight the updated graphics, enemy placements, and the new Forlorn NPC invader.
Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin is slated to release on April 2 this year for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC from publisher Namco Bandai Games and developer From Software.
