Crocodiles Attack in Zambezi River: English Tourists Witness Crocs Feasting on a Human Body; 3-Year-Old Zimbabwean Girl Killed While Playing

To see thrilling dinosaurs is to Jurrasic Park, but to see man-eating crocodiles is to Zambezi River? Several British tourists experienced real thrill of their lives as they witness crocs crunching a man when they approached the river situated between Zimbabwe and Zambia. A Zimbabwean girl also reportedly killed in the same area in February.

According to IOL news, tourists who were apparently English and staying in Siansimba area of Zambia reported their thrilling cruise trip around Zambezi River. It was supposed to be an enjoyable sunset cruise, but to their surprise crocodiles in the area were hard to ignore as these reptiles were munching a half of a human body. Conservation group Bhejane Trust's Trevor Lane confirmed the incident.

In Telegraph's account, Police arrived in the crime scene when they called to investigate but they're too late as even one-fourth of the body was already gone.

"All there was to see of him was his trousers," Telegraph's source shared. "We have had no information about anyone missing from villages around us, so we don't think the man was a local."

As for whether the man was a local or tourist, the news firm reported that it's apparently a Zambian poacher. He's possibly one of the 13 poachers who encountered rangers two days before the Crocodiles' feast incident. Lane divulged out of the original number, one killed and only nine came back.

"We strongly suspect it was a poacher," Lane said in his interview with South African Press Association. "Maybe he was wounded and tried to swim across the river."

"National Parks Zimbabwe was tipped off by Botswana that poachers from Zambia were on their way," he share with Telegraph.

"It was a group of about 13 of them, and there was a shootout. I suspect the man who was eaten by the crocodile was either injured during that shoot out and tried to escape through the water, or he was shot in the water, and was already dead when the crocodile ate him."

In the other crocodile-attack report in Zambezi River, Southern Eye Newspaper divulged that the 3-year-old Lubelihle Nyoni was attacked by a crocodile around a bank, Hwange side, of the river on February 22 while she's playing her 8-year-old friend. The news agency added that Nyoni's grandfather and uncle were victims too of crocodiles in the area few years ago.

"I was doing something some few metres from the river when I heard screams before I lifted up my eyes and saw a big crocodile snatching Luba from the banks, where they were bathing," Nyoni 's relative Margi Reno said about the Zimbabwean girl who's body never been reclaimed.

"I froze for a moment as my mind could not comprehend what I had seen, but then I recovered and rushed to Mawili, who seemed frozen to the spot."
