The crime drama series has been given the axe, or that's what it seems to be according to the latest CSI Season 16 updates. It appears that CBS has given some rather mixed signals regarding the season renewal.
According to a report, the long-running crime series has taken a dive in the ratings as of late. While show creator Anthony Zuiker has stressed his optimism for a series renewal, the numbers ratings are not faring well.
Even CBS president Nina Tassler has admitted that while the show has had quite a strong fan following over the years, the network still hasn't made a decision on whether or not there will be a CSI Season 16.
"We haven't determined yet what's going to happen with CSI. The show continues to be a strong performer and does very well in its time period. You look at the journey that the show has gone on [with assorted cast changes over the years].... We're just incredibly proud." said Tassler in an interview.
Fans of CSI have been pretty much left in the dark when it comes to CSI Season 16 Renewal news. The latest updates have showed that the odds aren't in the show's favor. While fans are still hopeful for more crimes to be solved in future episodes, it appears that viewers will have to wait. Because of the slow updates, fans have already speculated that the show is as good as cancelled. While it is true that the series has a loyal fanbase that it has made through the years, is this enough to give the series a renewal?
