'Batman V Superman' Update: Jeremy Irons Cites Dawn of Justice’s 'Amazing Script'; Comic Book Writer Says Marvel Edges Out DC's Cinematic Universe Plan?

By

'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice' is set for release on March 25, 2016 and it's not surprising if it's getting buzz with its main cast Superman Henry Cavill , Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, and Batman Ben Affleck. For a change, Jeremy Irons didn't hype up his character Alfred the Bruce Wayne's Butler, when he was asked about the film, instead 66-year-old actor commended the film's script.

"The next 'Batman' has an amazing screenplay. It's a blockbuster written from the heart," the 66-year-old Alfred Pennyworth actor shared with LaNazione about Chris Terrio's work that's from David Goyer and Zack Snyder's creation.

Meantime, comic writer-TV Producer Robert Kirkman thought that DC and Warner Brothers' early efforts for media mileage has disadvantages. 'The Walking Dead' and Marvel Comic's 'Ultimate X Men' comic creator added announcements about upcoming films like 'Justice League,' 'Suicide Squad,' 'Green Lantern looks 'not organic.'

"I think [DC] announcing you're going to do a 'Justice League' movie after a 'Superman' movie, that was neat and had some awesome things in it, but it wasn't like amazing or groundbreaking...

[The plan] just seems derivative, so it puts them in a backseat position to Marvel. It's not organic so there's going to be so much scrutiny on 'Batman V Superman' when it comes out. It's got an uphill battle," Kirkman said in his interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"If they hadn't told anybody if the 'Justice League' were going to be appearing in that, and they were forming that, it would have been surprising and exciting and weird. People are forgetting how important the surprise is."

Last year there were mixed reactions with Snyder's decisions such as casting Gadot, Affleck and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. But apart from not being shaken with diehard fans' reception, the 'Man of Steel' director discussed his high hopes in combining Superman and Batman' powers.

"As a fan, it's an amazing opportunity. You know, Superman and Batman in the movies have never existed in the same frame together," shared with Los Angeles Times.

"[The movie] literally takes the 'Man of Steel' and 'Batman' universes and explodes them. You're not as tied to the mythology. In 'Man of Steel,' we had to create an origin story, a mythology, and there's a lot of energy into that, which we love doing. Don't get me wrong. But when you think about how fun it is to - now that you've got these characters - to now let 'em loose. That's fun!"
