"The Legend of Korra" is said to be the saving grace of the disastrous M. Night Shyamalan's "Avatar" movie. Several rumors of the movie-adaptation's possible production and release have been out since 2012. After the recent success of the sequel of the movie "Sponge Bob Square Pants, will Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon push through with "The Legend of Korra" movie this 2016?
Brad Grey, chief of Paramount Pictures has been very vocal on its interest in bringing cartoon series into the big screens. He even hired seven new writers in 2012 including J.J. Abrams and Mary Parent to work on the movie projects. Some of the cartoon television series scheduled for a movie release included, Dora the Explorer, Sponge Bob Square Pants, Monkey Keys and "The Legend of Korra." The predessor "Avatar" movie may have not been successful in the cinema, but Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon believes that a cartoon spin-off of the movie might actually work. With Paramount Picture's Animated Studio involve, big things are possible for the movie.
"The Legend of Korra" movie can be based on the 6 months gab between the Book 1 and Book 2 of the cartoon series. This would tackle with the events after the Equalist Regime and will introduce several conflicts including an uprising. Sticking with this plot could also lead into a sequel if the movie hits of in the cinemas.
The plot could also wrestle on the recently concluded Book 4: Balance of the animated series. In this chapter, Kuvira is finally defeated. Of course, this will not go easy and lives will be at stake during the process of defending Earth against the monstrosity that Kuvira created. Nonetheless, Korra's bending powers will immerge as the finest and is bound to defeat the evil plans of Kuvira. In the end, she will also manage to make Kuvira understand, that her fight is not the right path towards peace.
The struggles of Korra and his friends to be able to triumph against Kuvira is a perfect subject for the upcoming movie. A conclusion is what this plot offers, compared to the first three books of the series that is open for a sequel or a four part movie series.
