Mortal Kombat X DLC Confirms Liu Kang’s Return Along with New Surprising Characters

By

Like a rising dragon, Liu Kang will seemingly rise again from a Mortal Kombat 9 death into an unstoppable fighting force in Mortal Kombat X. Leaked information on the fighter roster for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X set for release in April, specifically confirms Liu's comeback.

Though fans are not surprised the main protagonist of this fighting game series is included in its new big instalment, how he returns from an apparent death is curious to know. It can be remembered that Liu Kang was killed off in Mortal Kombat 9 as he was electrocuted to death by Raiden. Though this was the ending of the last instalment, with news of Liu Kang's resurrection in MKX, the only question is how.

Liu Kang's reappearance is confirmed when a list of DLC packs for MKX was leaked. Among these packs is the 'Klassic Pack #1' where Liu Kang's "classic" skin is included. However, the real surprise came when the rest of the character roster was released to the public. The most notable are the addition of non MK names making their appearance in the series. Names like Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th and the Predator are surprisingly included in the DLC packs for MKX.

Mortal Kombat has been one of the controversial titles in gaming history. The original release of the game met serious criticisms over its apparent violence and gore. However, it revolutionized the fighting genre forever and is one of the classic titles that continues to captivate avid fans.

The game will be released for the PS4, XBO and PC on April 14, while version release for last-gen consoles are set later this year. Mortal Kombat X will give fans of the series another chance to once again bask in the glorious gore of its finishers, fatalities and other, more 'interesting' ways to dispose a stunned and confused opponent.
