AirAsia Flight 8501 plane crash shook the airline industry right before 2014 ended. While this isn't as bad as Malaysia Airlines MH370, it obviously tarnished the airline's reputation. For now, what are the recent updates on AirAsia Flight 8501? Have they already stopped the search operations? How are the families of the victims doing? Read on for more.

According to AirAsia's website, the National Search and Rescue Agency, Republic of Indonesia has already formally declared the end of search operations of AirAsia Flight 8501. If you must know, the search was extended for 7 days and 3 more remains were found. These remains are strongly believed to be of the aircraft's passengers. Further examination to verify will have to be done.

Tony Fernandes, CEO of AirAsia has extended his gratitude to the team who exerted effort in the search operations. Fernandes has been very visible throughout the incident. His actions were praised by a lot of people, most especially his genuine concern for the victims' families.

As of the moment, the families of the passengers from AirAsia Flight 8501 can get more updates from the airline's information center. They will be assisted with their legal concerns and they can obtain results from the investigation.

Indeed, it is alarming that most fatal airline accidents came from Asia Pacific. Does that mean there is an issue of safety which most airlines in Asia do not give importance? Based from one report, it seems that people would always want to fly, and this demand cannot be sustained by the airlines. As a result, safety is being compromised.

Obviously, no one would wish for another air crash like that of AirAsia Flight 8501. Hence, all airlines should be able to heighten their security and safety measures in order to avoid such mishaps. This might be the end of the operation for the aircraft, but the families will forever mourn on their loss.
