The highly anticipated release of Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord to PC including the home consoles has been revealed from a recent interview given with Turkish news outlet, Turuncu Levye.
In such case, this becomes the first release for the Mount and Blade franchise that will not be exclusive on PC hardware. Despite that the interview posted by the news outlet is in Turkish, an article was published alongside the video that presents some highlights about the upcoming sequel.
According to the article, "During our interview with Co-Founder and Lead Designer of TaleWorlds Entertainment, Armagan Yavuz, he said Bannerlord is being worked on precisely for consoles."
Some loose translations from the interview were made available courtesy of users on the video game forum NeoGAF. User RamzalsCool, one of the interviewers in the video, commented that he saw Xbox Ones and PS4s in one of the rooms at developer TaleWorlds Entertainment's office.
RamzalsCool cited that Yavus provided a vague response as to when fans could expect to hear more solid information about the upcoming medieval warfare game. It was pointed, however, that Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord will be developed more as a platform than a game by giving tools to modders to keep expanding content, the Digital Spy reported.
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord will be set around 200 years before the events of Mount and Blade: Warband and a rough real-world equivalent for the time setting is around the fall of the Roman empire that gave the rise of several medieval European kingdoms. The armor, weapons and architecture are said to draw inspiration from 600 to 1200 A.D.
The reveals on the development of Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord are less available especially on information regarding a potential release date, hence, fans have to wait a little while longer for more announcement from TaleWorlds Entertainment.
Vishnu Vijayakumar, producer at TaleWorlds Entertainment, has hinted that the studio is thinking about releasing Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord on PS4 and Xbox One as saying, "it is a little too early to talk about the possibility of a console release right now. It is something that we have in our minds and the project is not confirmed."
The response comes after TaleWorlds co-founder supposedly confirmed a console release outright to Turuncu Levye. A staff at TaleWorlds, then, reportedly added in comments that the console build was being worked on by a separate team while the PC build was feature complete.
More information and details on Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord release on Xbox One, PS4 consoles might be possibly coming out pretty soon, so, stay tuned.
