Sony's next big PS4 exclusive, 'Until Dawn', release date have been leaked in the recent listing on giant retailers website indicating a solid release date on June 24.
'Until Dawn' developed by Supermassive Games had a vague release window of Summer 2015 that was revealed at the Video Game Awards in December. However, if several German retailers online are to be believed, gaming fans may be getting their hands on the new title earlier than summer this year than many have thought.
Attack of the Fanboy reported that as pointed out by a poster on NeoGAF last night for a short period of time, the listing onAmazon.de for 'Until Dawn' marked a June 24 release date but the purported leak has now been taken out.
It may just appear to be an honest mistake, however, German retailers like MediaMarkt and Spielegrotte including some other European retailers bore the same listing as well. Despite that some have removed the said date all at the same time or put in another placeholder overnight, some of them still have the June 24 date.
This release date for 'Until Dawin' would fit like a glove with the Summer 2015 release window and a good timing for the game following the E3's hype machine that could fuel the fans' excitement even more.
June 24, however, would not be the release date in the US given that it is a Wednesday but a release that week could be a lot sensible for Sony emulating the release schedule for 'The Last of Us' and 'The Last of Us Remastered' over the last two summers as PlayStation exclusive games.
Fans must take such reported leak from most retailers with a pinch of salt, on the contrary, many of retailer leaks have turned out to be true in the past, hence, one cannot dismiss this report completely.
Segment Next noted, though, that it looks like people at Amazon Germany are not up to date with the latest happenings in the gaming industry as it have also mistakenly listed Rise of the Tomb Raider release for PS4.
The site added that it could have been closer to the truth to Until Dawn's June 24 release, had not Rise of the Tomb Raider listed as PS4 title.
'Until Dawn' has been in development for a while and Sony should announce a firm release date in the coming month or so.
