Zayn Malik's relationship with fiancé Perrie Edwards had been having rough patches lately. Issues of infidelity and busy schedules have been reportedly included in the list of reasons for their trouble. On the other hand, Zayn Malik had been sick for subsequent periods and had been missing out on performances and appearances. It has left people wondering whether Malik's drug problems are indeed, conclusive.
One Direction member Zayn Malik, 22, and Perrie Edwards, 21, have been experiencing relationship troubles recently especially since Zayn had allegedly slept with waitress Courtney Webb.
The Little Mix singer, who had been engaged with Malik since August of 2013, was also worried about the time they were bound to spend apart due to Malik's 117-date tour with his band. According to one source, Perrie "is only just learning to trust Zayn again after recent events, and of course, she is worried about what will happen while Zayn is away", adding that "Perrie has told him she thinks it will break them. It's such a sad time for her."
Perrie's friends have expressed their thoughts on the recent behavior of One Direction's "bad boy", and a source confirmed their agreement on the fact that "no one is holding much hope" for the two. Some reports have claimed that despite the infidelity and trust issues, the two have decided to still patch things up. The boyband have been advised by their management since the cheating reports have surfaced.
On the other hand, Zayn had been missing out on quite already several TV appearances, interviews and performances. One Direction took to Twitter to explain the absence of the singer: "Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta."
Zayn had also missed an interview in Orlando with Matt Lauer, which had Lauer making a remark that implied of Malik's drug use. Regarding this, Malik stated: "I'm really angry and upset by what was said on The Today Show. I was really ill at the weekend, that's why I couldn't fly to America". One Direction has denied Malik's drug use, and cited stomach illness and stress as the main reason for their member's subsequent absences.
