The Android 5.1 Lollipop update might bring a haywire of problems for Motorola Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 users. The lollipop update had the objective to fix bugs but it proved to be otherwise with the current 5.1 update.
Many Motorola Nexus users had reported that the software update had brought a major bug that includes a memory leak issue. Google may have taken noticed of the issue already but for those users who had their device affected, the company asks for more patience.
The bug-fixing update by Google had caused many Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 users to frown. Many have been experiencing problems like memory resource draining. According to one feedback from the Android Tracker, "After one day of usage, the free RAM down to 800 MB and I can see Google + restarting... without resetting the phone, it returns automatically to 1.1 GB Free RAM. All this happen without opening or changing any app, what proves the memory leak."
In response to this claim, the Android Team had posted that they had already taken action. The system has "been fixed internally". But the schedule for the release of the fix has still not been released by Google. The company recommends that Nexus users do some diagnostic tests on their own. Users can check through the Settings of their smart phones if the system memory had been overused. It is advised that restarting the device occasionally would help in easing the memory problem.
However, let not this issue turn you off in updating your Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 to Android 5.1 Lollipop. The software update still brings with it certain improvements. The Android 5.1 lollipop update improves the speed of the device and fixes other bug issues. The software update also brings with it a new security feature, the "On Body Detection" which won't relock the phone while the gadget is in contact with your body.
