Zayn Malik has officially left One Direction. While that may be heartbreaking news to most, here is a look back at some of his best moments during his time as a member of One Direction. Zayn Malik officially announced his departure from his group, One Direction. In a statement posted on their official Facebook page, Malik announced that he is leaving One Direction for good.
Malik wrote: "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band..."
Malik went on and apologized to millions of fans, but he insisted that his decision is what is right. He said that he wants to be able to live his life as a normal 22-year-old would, but said that he and the rest of the boys will continue to be friends.
According to most fans, one of Malik's best moments as a member of One Direction was when he bought his mom a house in their documentary film, "This Is Us." The scene showed just how close and sweet Malik is to his family, especially when the cameras captured the moment wherein his family saw the house for the first time.
The Hollywood Reporter also noted that Malik had some of the best hair moments in the band. The outlet listed some of Malik's memorable hairstyles during his time in One Direction such as "The Shag," "The Harry Styles," "The Man Bun," and "The Headband."
Malik is also known for having one of the best vocals and as Yahoo UK calls it, Malik has a "very unique vocal flair."
Malik also encouraged his fans to donate to charity in honor of his 22nd birthday.
While these are just some of Malik's best moments captured on screen and imprinted on news sites, Malik will always have a special place in every Directioner's heart.
