For the record, this could be one musical collaboration everyone may be pining for in the future. Kelly Clarkson - America's first American Idol winner and herself a chart-topping singer-songwriter - puts on her most soulful voice, performing across the recent Academy Award winner and nine-time Grammy winner John Legend in 'Run, Run, Run'.
Barring one tiny detail: It's plagued with collaboration issues. Especially in the direction of the lady born in Fort Worth, Texas.
Legend's Magic Wand
As his musical style dictates - his biggest hit song All of Me including - John Legend kick starts the song as a piano ballad.
Who would have thought such a wonderful masterpiece would turn out when speculations were rife no artist would want to work with the Texan A Moment Like This singer - none except Legend.
She Said it Herself
If nobody wants to work with her, Clarkson sounds like she's definitely aware of it.
In an interview with BBC Radio the "Original American Idol" from Texas admitted, "I honestly would collaborate with a lot of people, but everyone usually says no. I'm not kidding you. I have legitimately asked several people that I'm not going to call out, and that's cool, but I don't know."
Further she expounded, "I have asked several people... Sometimes I feel like I have the plague, or leprosy, they're like, 'If you get too close...' I don't know," so reports online magazine PerezHilton.
The recently married John Legend, however - congenial and affable as he is - and one who has worked with the best in the industry is quick to defend Clarkson.
He comments, "I think she was just being self-deprecating," clearly not buying the whole self-pity pronouncements, ET reports.
Collaborations Galore
John Legend is no stranger to collaborations, from the onset.
To date, the 36-year old R&B superstar has collaborated with a slew of top-notch artists. Before hitting mainstream, Legend lent his voice to Kanye West's "All of the Lights", Magnetic Man's "Getting Nowhere," Slum Village's "Selfish" and Dilated Peoples' "This Way" - not to mention Jay-Z's "Encore".
His apparent unselfishness to share his talent has made John a real legend so to speak in the Collaboration Department.
For her part, Clarkson, 32, would pale against Legend but she has had her moments. Recently, she debuted Invincible, a song penned by Chandelier singer Sia.
