Android 5.1 Lollipop Nexus 4 Rollout: Announcement of Release Date to be Divulged Soon

By

While, it sure looks good that the Android 5.1 update seems all over, out to a slew of devices - all except for the relatively aging Nexus 4, Google may be just acting like his old self again and should not cause Nexus 4 loyalists any untoward heartache. If signs are to be believed, everything sure looks like they are in for a pleasant surprise after all and should just hold on to their seats.

Certainly, it may not be a foregone conclusion by the Sergey Brin-led tech giant to go MIA (Missing in Action) on its following; but it's more of a "Coming Soon" for all Nexus 4 fans.

Everybody Happy

'Twas but weeks ago that Google rolled out Android 5.1 Lollipop - an event rumored to arrive by end of last year.

Yet the waiting game may be worth it as mobile tech connoiseur GottaBeMobile confirms this is no ordinary update and is much bigger than standard updates in the past.

As it surfaced weeks ago in the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and the roll-outs have started crawling via OTA (Over-the-air), Nexus users are beginning to reap its benefits.

All except Nexus 4 users, of course, who more likely than not may have become more than excited upon hearing the news - in light of the myriad issues and complaints associated with the "old" device in the past months.

However, their wait could end anytime soon.

All Signals Point to One Direction

First stop, it is uncharacteristic of Google to spell out dates of their releases.

Although the tech giant did not confirm the Nexus 4 Android 5.1 Lollipop Update when it did its official announcement of the release, everything points to that particular direction.

Android Police, one tried-and-tested industry stalwart whose business is to predict and watch trends, believes it to be so.

And perhaps more substantially, another trusted industry leader Myce locked on an Android 5.1 Lollipop build currently running on the Nexus 4.

This only means one thing: Google is testing the waters and is prepping the update for release.

With that said, Nexus 4 users should skip the throw-my-device-and-find-a-new-one routine, but wait just a little bit longer and hold on to their seats. Upgrade is coming via OTA - may not be today but anytime soon!
