Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Boxing Update: Pacman to give Mayweather his first KO? Mayweather boasts win in 5 rounds

By

One of the highly-anticipated boxing fights in history is going to happen this May 2, when Pacquiao and Mayweather face each other - for an ultra-mega and most awaited fight to happen in MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Yet, the Filipino champ is advised to give Mayweather his first defeat via knock-out.

There are several reasons why Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao was advised to defeat Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Jr. through knockout (KO). First reason was to prevent any biased judgment or any illogical results by some reasons. This was emphasized by Sonny Padilla, one of the Filipino veteran referee, told media in an interview.

During his interview last March 26, Padilla, one of the 3rd guy during the Muhamma Ali and Joe Frazier fight in Manila named as "Thrilla in Manila" for the third time. With his point of view towards the upcoming megafight, he said that Pacquiao has to give Mayweather a knockout.

"For Pacquiao to win, he should do the whole lot like what he did previously. He have to be careful as a result of Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a filthy fighter. While he sees a choice, he's going to do his tips. You recognize what? The referee alongside the judges will be favouring Floyd Mayweather Jr."

On the other side, Coach Freddie Roach confidently said that his favourite student Pacquiao will win the fight suppose to the fact that Floyd is not the best on earth. He even told the media that Mayweather might not have ever won the nationals. Previously, he emphasized that Mayweather, even when he first accepted the fight against Pacquiao, has already been defeated.

Aside from Padilla, one of the most famous boxing commentator and even the most respected, Bob Sheridan even favors Pacquiao over Mayweather. He revealed that he placed his bet to Pacquiao because he basically likes Pacquiao in general.

"For me, I would take Pacquiao. I'll probably bet a few dollars on it, I'm not a big bettor but just to have an interest in it."

He explained that when he bets, he usually place $5 to $15, not reaching beyond these ranges, unlike others with $50 even reaching $1,000 to place a bet. This is because he doesn't like to put influence to the fight that would affect the results in the latter.

"I don't want my bet to influence my call on the fight. That's the way I've always done it because if you have $1000 on the fight, it's certainly going to influence your call on the fight and I don't want that to happen."

One interesting thing he said is that he wants Pacquiao "to shut up Mayweather for the rest of the world."

He added, "Whether I'm announcing it or not, my heart is with Pacquiao. I'll probably bet on Pacquiao because you get a little bit better odds on it. I think the fight is an even fight, I don't think the odds that initially came out are to generate action on Pacquiao but when the wealthy Filipinos from around the United States and from The Philippines start pouring their money in, I think the odds will even up a little bit."

Sheridan ended his statements through predicting Mayweather will surely retire from his undefeated title with "zero" loss mark from the upcoming fight against the Filipino champ, Manny Pacquiao. Like Padilla, Sheridan was one of those who witnessed the Ali-Frazier fight in Manila as a commentator [to superfights like Pacquiao's].

On the contrast, Mayweather boastfully said to public media that he will surely give Pacquiao his KO defeat within 5 rounds or even less. "Look, if Marquuez knocked Pacquiao out like that in the sixth, then guarantee I'll have him out by the fifth because I beat Marquez like a slave."

However, he has an illogical comparison since during that time, Marquez has to climb two weight classes from lightweight (135 lbs) to 144 lbs for the title fight. And instead of reducing, Mayweather just simply paid $600,000 fine for his 146 lbs during weigh in, which was higher than the expected weight required from the fight. Yet, Marquez grew 142 lbs.

Marquez, in return, advised Pacquiao to KO Mayweather. His reason was a bit alarming. He said that the judges in Las Vegas are always in favor for the American boxer - all time.

"For Pacquiao to win, he must knock him out because the judges in Las Vegas are always in favor of Mayweather," he revealed.

He added some tips how to prevent defeat from Mayweather by saying, "Normally, when Pacquiao is aggressive, he throws without [looking out for the counter], and in this respect he must change because Mayweather is a great counter-puncher and knows precisely what hurts Pacquiao."
