Wrestling fans can rejoice - the latest downloadable content for "WWE 2K15" known as "Path of the Warrior" is set to be released on March 31.
The release date was announced during IGN's live stream event for the DLC, which was held during the Wrestlemania Fan Axxess event held on Saturday.
The new content being released on March 31 is reportedly no coincidence, according to Attack of the Fanboy. The date was specifically chosen for the launch so as to coincide with the one year anniversary of the Ultimate Warrior's passing.
Prior to the official release date for the game being released, fans had been clamoring for the new content as a way to help relive the larger than life exploits of the new departed Ultimate Warrior.
Some lucky individuals have already had the priviliege of playing the new content ahead of its release date.
Before the Fan Axxess event, Marcus Stephenson of 2K Games confirmed that an error enabled certain people to enjoy the new content before they were supposed to, according to the International Business Times.
"In preparation for its upcoming release, the WWE 2K15 Path of the Warrior downloadable content pack was uploaded by accident to the SCEA store. During this brief time period, consumers had access to acquire the content. It was an error that has been rectified," said Stephenson.
Aside from the Ultimate Warrior, the new content will also feature three WWE Hall of Famers, including Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan, and Sgt. Slaughter, according to Ecumenical News.
Other characters included in the downloadable content package are Colonel Mustafa, Honky Tonk Man, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Macho King, Rick Rude, and The Undertaker.
New arenas are also included in the package, with players now given the option to engage in epic bouts inside the venues for Wrestlemania VI, VII, and XII, for Summerslam '88, '90, and '91 as well as Saturday Night's Main Event XXIV, and Madison Square Garden.
The "Path of the Warrior" DLC will reportedly be available for $9.99.
