As the seventh season of the popular ABC series 'Castle' comes to a close, fans of the show are eager to find out what exactly happened to Rick Castle (played by Nathan Fillion) during his two-month disappearance at the beginning of the season. Viewers can remember that Castle was abducted during the early episodes of season seven without knowing why. While it appeared that this storyline had been pushed to the background, an article published by the International Business Times claim that spoilers for the upcoming episodes indicate that the show will be visiting Castle's disappearance one more time.
In an interview with TVLine, Seamus Dever (who portrays detective Kevin Ryan) stated that the 20th episode will be "...the one that everyone has been hanging on, waiting for, since the beginning of this season - 'What happened to Castle? Where did he go for those three months?' That's going to be exciting to get back into in Episode 20."
David Amann, who serves as the showrunner for 'Castle,' confirmed that the final episode for this season's run will deal with what happened to Rick Castle during his disappearance. He also stated that while the episode will provide "clarity" on the incident, it may not give the entire story to the viewers.
Meanwhile, the sypnosis for this week's episode, titled "Habeas Corpse," which was released by ABC, features Castle and Beckett handling an investigation to the murder of a wealthy personal-injury attorney. It also states that the duo will uncover a "shocking secret" that will further make the case harder to solve.
Regarding the continuation of the show, ABC has yet to release any official statement as to whether 'Castle' will be renewed for an eighth season or not. Additionally, it has not been confirmed whether Stana Katic or Nathan Fillion have signed on for a new season.
'Castle' airs Mondays on ABC.
