5 Seconds Of Summer: Slimed And Hyped At The Kid’s Choice Awards!

By

Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood, Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford rocked the stage at the 28th annual Nickelodeon's Kid's Choice Awards. They sang "What I Like About You," from their self-titled album 5SOS. The fans loved the performance as everyone from the crowd including the boys get slimed, gooey and green!

Recently, the 5 Second of Summer celebrated being awarded as the "worst band." Ashton, drummer, stated that "The main thing for us is the fans have a great time and they want to come back for years." Irwon, on the other hand said, "So we put everything we have into it, energy-wise, and we leave the stage having given it our all."

Aside from that, the band also had something to say about Zayn Malik's decision to leave the world's "greatest boy band." Michael, the guitarist, said "I think it was a personal decision for Zayn. I don't think he has anything against the band, I think he just had to make that choice for himself. I wish him all the best." The Australian boy band has been very close to the One Direction since they were asked to be the front act on the latter's Take Me Home tour and Where We Are tour.

On the other hand, the 5 Seconds of Summer is on the brink of their global stardom since, they are said to be the "next big thing." The boys was quick to dismiss whenever they are being compared to the British boy band, "We're a pop-rock band. People are calling us the new One Direction in Australia, but in our minds we're a lot different from them. We play guitars. We're more rock (than pop). But we thought that if you put us right next to them, it would actually show people how different we are," said the bassist/vocalist, Calum Hood.

Meanwhile, 5 Seconds of Summer is currently on the grooves for their upcoming first tour, the Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour. The tour began on 25 February 2015 in Tokyo, Japan and it will end on 13 September 2015 in West Palm Beach, Florida. One more thing, the Australian pop-rock band confirmed on being ready to write a new record, the 5 Seconds of Summer official account tweeted, "Getting lots and lots of ideas for songs! Ready to write a new record!!"

The four boys of 5 Seconds of Summer surely has nothing to worry about for now, since they have been rocketing towards success in their industry. Tickets to their tour has been nearly sold out, so all is set now and has plenty to look forward to! Save up, ladies! 5SOS is coming your way.
