Following Zayn Malik's departure from One Direction, Harry Styles and Niall Horan are rumored to be following in Malik's footsteps, possibly pursuing solo careers next year after wrapping up the group's current world tour and other obligations.
Both Harry and Niall reportedly have been offered record deals by Simon Cowell's record label Syco which will ensure a bright future for them should they decide to go solo like Zayn, according to Daily Star.
While the group will remain busy for the rest of 2015 (they are doing their "On The Road Again" world tour and will be releasing their fifth album in time for Christmas), there are no concrete plans in place yet for 2016, the publication stated.
"The album is a guarantee but next year is all up in the air," the source said. "Harry and Niall are already being groomed for solo success and both could have huge solo careers if they wanted."
However, the possibility of One Direction splitting up remains slim for now as the four remaining members of the chart-topping boy band - Niall, Harry, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne - have all vowed to carry on as a four-piece after Zayn left.
The band members also quashed rumors suggesting One Direction is on the verge of breaking up following Zayn's shocking departure last week. Liam is said to be the member being the most vocal about keeping the band together. Recently he thanked ID fans over Twitter for sticking with their group and "for not thinking it's finished."
It can be recalled that Zayn Malik's decision to leave One Direction after five years has attracted worldwide attention and left millions of fans heartbroken. In an interview Zayn stated that his decision was "crazy and wild and a bit mad," but he also felt like "I'm doing what's right, right by myself and right by the boys."
He also slammed reports of rifts between the band members, adding that his former bandmates were supportive of his decision. A day after he quit 1D, he was spotted visiting a recording studio in London. Zayn is now believed to be working on a solo album with well-known music producer Naughty Boy.
