Unofficial Android 5.1 L arrives for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with model number SM-N910F and SM-N910G. The Team Emotroid and contributors from XDA developers have released its still underdevelopment Android 5.1 Lollipop version to European variants of the Note 4 via the Android Ice Cold Project ROM. As per when other variants of the Note 4 will receive the update directly from Google, it is still unclear yet and so with the Nexus 9.
Rumors about Samsung currently developing the Android 5.1 L for Note 5 circulated recently, but it was immediately proven false which confirms that no Android Lollipop update is underway for the Note 4. According to Samsung, it is not currently "working on Android 5.1 for any of its devices, let alone the Galaxy Note 4." The company has also not commented about the rumor that it is bringing the current version of UX to the Galaxy Note 4, along with the Android 5.1 update.
Samsung's focus right now is to complete bringing 5.0 L to its Galaxy A lineup, but the timeframe for the release isn't conclusive yet.
This news will certainly disappoint the device users waiting for the Android 5.1 update, said Sam Mobile, but it won't hurt to hope for Samsung to push through in updating the Note 4 to more countries as soon as it can. The latest Android 5.1 L update to Qualcomm variants of the Note 4 is one proof to it.
Android 5.1 L is already available to Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Eligible Nexus phones for Android 5.1 L release include the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9, and Nexus 10. T-Mobile's Nexus 6 and Verizon's Nexus 6 were the firsts Google devices to receive the 5.1 L update. The Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and Nexus 7 from US network carrier T-Mobile are also said to be receiving the update. Nexus 5 and 6 as well as Nexus 7 and 10 have also received the Android 5.1 L update via OTA.
Android 5.1 L update comes with dual-SIM support, device protection, "crystal-clear HD voice, and Quick Settings enhancements.
