'Terminator Genisys' Trailer, Movie Updates: Arnold Schwarzenegger makes fun of 'Terminator Salvation?' Promises incredible new sequel trilogy

By

Arnold Schwarzenegger's back in a big way for this summer's Terminator Genisys- he's returning the franchise that first made him a household name, and a franchise he hasn't starred in for over a decade (Schwarzenegger's last real Terminator film was 2003's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, as he only appeared in Terminator Genisys as a CGI replica).

And the legendary bodybuilder-turned-action-star-turned-governor-turned-action star is promising that the latest Terminator film is going to do far better than the last one. According to Yahoo!, Schwarzenegger was asked his opinion about the last film, Terminator Salvation, and his opinions were pretty frank. When asked if he appeared in Terminator Salvation, Schwarzenegger's reply was: "I didn't, no ... thank God." Then, when asked to clarify that comment, he added, "it sucked."

Pretty harsh words from Schwarzenegger, but he's the man who's been involved with the Terminator franchise for more than 30 years. At this point, his opinion's pretty much the law as far as Terminator movies go.

Schwarzenegger also had a few more things to say about the upcoming action film, also starring Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, as well as smaller roles from Matt Smith, JK Simmons and Lee Byung-hun.

"Here the challenge was, how do I have the same frame as I had in the 1984 movie?" Schwarzenegger added that "wasn't that far away from it."

"So, it, I was, let's say at an eight. So, I had to push it up to a ten ... Within two months I got to that size."

Schwarzenegger also confirmed that Terminator Genisys is being developed as the first film in a new sequel trilogy, which should definitely excite longtime fans of the franchise. Obviously that all hinges on Terminator Genisys being a success at the box office (always remember: Terminator Salvation, too, was planned as the first in a trilogy. Look how that ended up), but if Arnold's satisfied with Genisys, that's good enough for us.

Terminator Genisys will premiere in theaters on July 1, 2015.
