The new generation gets a glimpse of the life in the old west as the movie "The Magnificent Seven" is remade and will be released in cinemas this coming 2017. A 2016 release was expected from the movie but Sony Pictures has already announced that a January 13, 2017 release date is scheduled for the Western remake of the 1960's movie.
Just like the original movie, the Sony Pictures remake of the movie will feature an old west town being taken over by a tyrant mining baron and his evil minions. A widow, victim of the baron's ruthless thugs will be hiring a hunter to get rid of the town rascals. The bounty hunter will be played by actor Denzel Washington and brings six more gunmen to help him with his fight.
Production of the movie has not yet started but Sony Pictures is already ready to go head to head against 20th Century Fox's movie "Boss Baby" that will be released on the same date. Denzel Washington lands on the lead role as well as Chris Pratt, Haley Bennett, Ethan Hawke and Vincent D'Onofrio. D'Onofrio is set to play as the baron and villain in the movie. Haley Bennett on the other hand will play the role of the widow who will hire the seven gunmen to protect town.
The original movie starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaugh, James Coburn, Horst Buchholz and Brad Dexter.
Several rumored actors being attached to the "Magnificent Seven" remake includes Jude Law, Benedict Cumberbatch and Liam Hemsworth. Four actors are still needed to complete the "Magnificent Seven" casts that will most likely be announced one by one before April ends.
MGM will lead the production of the movie while Sony Pictures will distribute the remake of the movie on cinemas. Filming of the movie is allegedly starting this coming May under the direction of Antoine Fuqua.
