Thor 3: Ragnarok is still two years away from being released but that does not mean there is a lack of significant chatter about what could possibly be the last movie in the Thor franchise, what the plot is going to be, and the deaths of not one but two major characters.
Thor's third stand-alone movie could very well be his last. Gleaning from the title itself, Ragnarok is the Norse version of the apocalypse, a string of happenings that will lead to the destruction of the world. The second Avenger's movie, Age of Ultron, could have an effect on this new installment.
Since the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) has the ability to cause nightmares among the Avengers, it is within the realm of possibility that Thor might have a vision of a ruined Asgard, prompting him to return. Chris Hemsworth, the actor who plays Thor, also hinted that the movie would involve Thor's suspicions about Odin, who is actually Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in disguise.
It has been rumored that Thor will find out about Loki's deception and will end up killing him. There have also been rumors that Thor will also die in this movie due to him saving Asgard from utter destruction by cutting the tapestry of time, which could yield disastrous results. However, Chris Hemsworth still has one more movie in his contract apart from Thor 3.
We cannot be sure what the future holds for the two characters, especially since no plot has been released by Marvel. The gap between movies is a wide one and that would leave room for more speculation and rumors. But Marvel has not disappointed fans and they will not disappoint any time soon.
Thor 3: Ragnarok is slated to be released in theaters on November 3, 2017. There is a long wait but with a few other Marvel movies in between, fans cannot complain.
