"Doctor Strange" may possess cosmic powers beyond our imagination, but the man granted to play the role, Benedict Cumberbatch does not share the same superpowers that the character has. The actor seems to need a little bit of magic to shoo away bad press and rumors spreading around the internet about his marriage with director Sophie Hunter.
It was initially reported that Benedict Cumberbatch dropped the lead role of the Marvel movie to be able to attend to a sickly pregnant Sophie Hunter. Fortunately, the rumors were untrue and Sophie enjoys traveling together with her husband in several events he has been summoned for.
The couple confirmed a baby on the way earlier this year and tied the know a month after, on Valentine's Day in an intimate ceremony at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul on the serene Isle of Wright in England. The couple both hailed from noble roots. Sophie's grandfather is the Commander in Chief of the British Army of Rhine. Benedict's great-grandmother on the other hand was Queen Victoria's consul general in Turkey.
The bit of noble blood in their veins explained why they decided to go for a traditional route in announcing their decision on marriage. They posted a notice in the marriages column of the British paper, "The Times" last November 2014.
Is Sophie Hunter getting jealous and hindering his husband's success? This rumor is just another rumor and she's been busy in her career as well. She is preparing to direct two plays written by Benjamin Britten and will run from July 23 to August 3 at the Aldeburgh Festival this coming June.
The "Doctor Strange" movie plot on the other hand might now have a back story for the character after all. Marvel is rumored to be trying out something different and will go straight for Dormammu, Dr.Strange's biggest foe. Thus a possible love triangle might actually happen in the upcoming movie. Clea, one of Dr. Strange's love interests is Dormammu's niece.
The Sorcerer Supreme is scheduled to hit the cinemas on November 4, 2016.
