An analyast recently said that an inclusion of an FPC-made capacitive Force Touch in the next-generation of iPhones would prompt Apple to call them as "iPhone 7," instead of "iPhone 6S." Further, he said that Apple was targeting to release 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models. Others are asking if this year's iPhone release would be iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
When in terms of reporting upcoming plans of Apple, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chu Kuo is considered to be one of those people who make accurate statements. He recently issued a note to investors saying that next-generation iPhones will have an FPC-made capacitive Force Touch sensor, located at the backlight. He added that once this feature was included, the change might be "significant enough for Apple to call its next iPhone the 'iPhone 7' instead of the so-called 'iPhone 6S.'"
In terms of the size, Kuo noted it was improbable that a 4-inch model would be released this year, which seems to debunk the rumored release of a 4-inch iPhone 6C.
However, Kuo claimed that Apple was still aiming 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models for its next-generation iPhones, which is similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This seems to confirm rumors that a 4.7-inch iPhone 6S, and 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus could be released. Futher, as Kuo noted to investors, they could possibly sport FPC-capacitive Force Touch sensors.
A report stated, "Will they be called iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus? As of this writing, there is no confirmation from Apple on the iPhones that it will be releasing this year." Further, it also said, "By going by the previous iPhone release patterns, the iPhone 7 is expected to release in September this year."
Official statements are yet to be confirmed from Apple.
Meanwhile, a report cited iPhone 8 concepts. The device is said to have a 14-karat gold body, made in glass, carbon filter panels with aluminum frame, and laser keyboard. The Apple logo on the back of the phone will be embedded with RGB micro LED. Different flashes would come out, with specific color for every type of notification.
The concept also showed a premium stylish device that sports a 4.7-inch display. Its main camera will be 25 MP, with a secondary camera of 5 MP. This will feature solar charging.
"While the Apple iPhone 8 is a long way off and it is too early to speculate about the device, these concept designs do give a good idea of what Apple fans are expecting from the company's next-generation iPhone," according to the report.
